Lawrence Begins Sending Census Forms

LAWRENCE, MASS. Lawrence authorities announced the beginning of shipment of the annual Census to local residents, which in 2011, seeking better results, will be distributed in English and Spanish.
In a communication, Rafael Tejeda, bilingual coordinator for the Elections Commission, stresses the importance of people answering all questions on the document and returning it to the indicated address.
It states that the Census data not only allows for updating the city’s list of voters, but also provides information on statistics needed for the targeting of public services in Lawrence.

The City of Lawrence will be sending the Annual City Census in the coming days. In the past, your assistance in the publication of Public Service Announcements about the Census has provided invaluable support for both the City and its residents. Once again, we appeal to your collaboration for the dissemination of the following information:
The City of Lawrence will be sending the Annual Census 2011, to all residents in the coming days. The Census is printed in English and Spanish to make it easier for all. It is important that you complete and return the form to us with information on each of the members of your household. The census data allows us to update the Voters List. Your response to the census also provides us with statistical information necessary for the targeting of public services. Your immediate attention and cooperation in responding to the requested information will be deeply appreciated by the Division of Elections of the City of Lawrence. Please follow the instructions when completing the census of the City.
1 – Check that all information printed on the form is correct.
2 – Make sure to list all family members whose legal address is the same; this includes family members who may be away due to: military service, students, or people who for health reasons are in health care facilities.
3 – Delete any member who no longer live at home and write the new address, if known.
4 – Please identify anyone who has moved or died.
Please complete and return the census form within the next ten (10) days, or as soon as possible, in the pre-paid envelope that is attached to the form with the mailing address printed for convenience.
